Starting 40K

There are a couple great ways to start your army for Warhammer 40,000.

The first option is for anyone who is looking to start Space Marines or Necrons. These two armies come in all the introductory starter boxes that launched at the start of 9th Edition (summer 2020). In particular, the Indomitus set is arguably the best set they've ever released. It comes with a great selection of miniatures both the Space Marines and the Necrons, the rules for those miniatures, and the full hard cover 40K Rulebook.

The second option is for anyone who is looking to start any other army in the 40K universe. Then your best option, in the vast majority of cases, is to pick up that army's Start Collecting or Combat Patrol and the 40K rulebook.

After you've chosen your army and made your choices on what you'll first be building, you'll need the tools and supplies to build and paint your army.

Finally, you'll need the detailed rules on what the miniatures in your army do. All of this can be found in your army's codex. Your codex will include all the special rules for your chosen army.

We hope this helps you in your 40K Hobby Journey! Please let us know if there's any questions we can answer to help you along the way!
